Dua For Opening Fasting In Arabic With Transliteration And English Translation
Fasting in Ramadan is one of the pillars of Islam that must be done for all Muslims in the world.
As instructed by Allah SWT through Surah Al-Baqarah verse 183 :
"Believers! Fasting is enjoined upon you, as it was enjoined upon those before you, that you become God-fearing"183
This includes the Sunnah fasting as well which is recommended by the Messenger of Allah (SAW) and has many virtues and benefits.
Linguistically, fasting means refraining and in Islamic syara' terms, fasting is refraining from things that can invalidate it.
One of the most awaited things in this fasting month is the time of breaking the fast. After refraining from eating and drinking for a whole day, breaking the fast is a pleasure for the fasting person.
But don't forget that you should read the dua for opening the fast, and here are some duas that you should recite.

Hadith About Dua Iftar
- It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “There are three whose du’aa’ is not rejected: a just ruler, the fasting person when he breaks his fast and the prayer of the oppressed person. It rises above the clouds and the gates of heaven are opened for it, and the Lord, may He be glorified, says, ‘By My Glory I will answer you even if it is after a while.’”
- The first thing that should be said when breaking the fast is that which was narrated by ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) who said: When he broke his fast, the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) would say, “Dhahaba al-zama’u wa abtalat al-‘urooq wa thabata al-ajr in sha Allaah (Thirst has gone, the veins are moistened and the reward is proven, if Allaah wills).” Narrated by Abu Dawood, 2357; classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood, 2066.
That's the review of the dua for opening the fast that was taught by the Messenger of Allah (SAW) by offering the Dua before breaking the fast, we have thanked God for all the blessings God has given us, Aamin.
