Dua After And Before Wudu in arabic, transliteration and english translation

Wudu is a requirement for a Muslim to perform worship. What kind of worship? That is worship which has sacred requirements from minor hadas. Therefore it is obligatory for us to perform ablution because with ablution the small hadas that we have will be lost. 

Seeing the explanation above, the role of ablution is very important in carrying out worship, for example in prayer, because if the ablution we are doing is not correct, the prayer we are doing is invalid. 

Therefore it is obligatory for us to study and understand the science of ablution. So that we can carry out the correct and legitimate procedures for ablution for worship.

Wudu is taken from Arabic which means clean or beautiful. Meanwhile, according to syara 'the meaning is to clean the parts of the body to remove small hadast. After wudu, it is recommended to read prayers before and after, so that our worship is perfect. 

Even though, it is not included in the rukun of Wudu, reading dua is a noble worship that has several virtues so that we are sunnah to practice these duas. 

Proposition Al-Quran about wudu

Al-Quran's evidence regarding wudu. Allah explains in the Al-Qur'an, namely the Al-maidah verse 6 as follows

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا قُمْتُمْ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ فَاغْسِلُوا وُجُوهَكُمْ وَأَيْدِيَكُمْ إِلَى الْمَرَافِقِ وَامْسَحُوا بِرُءُوسِكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُمْ إِلَى الْكَعْبَيْنِ

"O believers! When you rise up for prayer, wash your faces and your hands up to the elbows, wipe your heads, and wash your feet to the ankles"

Dua before wudu

Before performing wudu, we are encouraged to start by reciting basmallah. 

 بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيْم 

Then, after reading basmallah. Followed by reading the niyyah (intention) of wudu silently or in a low voice. 

نَوَيْتُ الْوُضُوْءَ لِرَفْعِ الْحَدَثِ اْلاَصْغَرِ فَرْضًا ِللهِ تَعَالَى

“Nawaitul whudu-a lirof’il hadatsii ashghori fardhon lillaahi ta’aalaa”

اَشْهَدُ اَنْ لآّاِلَهَ اِلاَّاللّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَشَرِيْكَ لَهُ وَاَشْهَدُ اَنَّ مُحَمَّدًاعَبْدُهُ وَرَسُوْلُهُ، اَللهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِىْ مِنَ التَّوَّابِيْنَ وَاجْعَلْنِىْ مِنَ الْمُتَطَهِّرِيْن

"Asyhadu alla ilaaha illalloh wahdahuu laa syariikalah wa asyhadu anna muhammadan 'abduhu wa rosuuluh, allohummaj'alnii minattawwaabiin waj'alnii minal mutathohiriin, waj 'alni min 'ibadhikas-sholihiin"

I testify that there is no god but Allah, the One, there is no associate with Him and I testify that Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger.O Allah! Make me among those who repent, and among those who purify themselves.

Proposition hadith about wudu

Narrated Hadrat Umar ibn Al-Khattab (RA). He heard the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) say,

“None of you makes wudu and completes the wudu, then says: I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah Alone, He has no partners; and I bear witness that Muhammad is his Messenger, except that all eight Gates of Paradise are opened for him, so he may enter by whichever he pleases.”

Related by Muslim, Abu Dawood, Tirmidhee, An Nisaae, and Ibn Maajah.

In addition to its function of eliminating small hadas, wudu also has many benefits including reducing anger, being forgiven of sins, the face will appear radiant and many other benefits.
