A glimpse of Tahajjud prayer

Tahajjud prayer is the sunnah prayer that is performed at night, namely after the isya prayer until shubuh prayer. Even so, the best time to perform tahajjud prayer is a third of the night.

Tahajjud prayer is performed after we sleep at night, even though we sleep only briefly. So the implementation of tahajjud prayer before going to sleep, the prayer is not a tahajjud prayer.

How many rakat tahajjud?

The number of rakats in tahajjud prayer is at least two cycles and is at most unlimited. The more cycles you do, the better.

Tahajjud prayer is a very special sunnah prayer and was highly recommended by the Prophet Muhammad SAW. Even Allah SWT says in Al-Quran regarding this tahajjud prayer, along with the Surah of Al-isra verse 79:

وَمِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَتَهَجَّدْ بِهِ نَافِلَةً لَكَ عَسَىٰ أَنْ يَبْعَثَكَ رَبُّكَ مَقَامًا مَحْمُودًا

"And rise from sleep during the night, as well- this is an additional Prayer for you. Possibly your Lord will raise you to an honoured position"

Even so, the midnight prayer is very difficult (lazy) to do, because it has to be done in a third of the night after sleeping, even though tahajjud prayer has a lot of benefits include prayer is granted(because in one third of the night there is a time when answered dua), Gets a commendable place, Allah will beloved to you and there are many other benefits of praying tahajjud.

On this occasion I will not discuss at length about tahajjud prayers but I will share the dua that you should read after performing tahjjud prayers. Because the dua is quite long I recommend that you write it down, the following is the prayer:

اَللّٰهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ اَنْتَ قَيِّمُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَاْلاَرْضِ وَمَنْ فِيْهِنَّ، وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ اَنْتَ مَالِكُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَاْلاَرْضِ وَمَنْ فِيْهِنَّ، وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ اَنْتَ نُوْرُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَاْلاَرْضِ وَمَنْ فِيْهِنَّ، وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ اَنْتَ الْحَقُّ وَوَعْدُكَ الْحَقُّ وَلِقَاءُكَ حَقٌّ وَقَوْلُكَ حَقٌّ وَالْجَنَّةُ حَقٌّ وَالنَّارُ حَقٌّ وَالنَّبِيُّوْنَ حَقٌّ مُحَمَّدٌ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَقٌّ وَالسَّاعَةُ حَقٌّ اَللّٰهُمَّ لَكَ اَسْلَمْتُ وَبِكَ اَمَنْتُ وَعَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَاِلَيْكَ اَنَبْتُ وَبِكَ خَاصَمْتُ وَاِلَيْكَ حَاكَمْتُ فَاغْفِرْلِيْ مَاقَدَّمْتُ وَمَا اَخَّرْتُ وَمَا اَسْرَرْتُ وَمَا اَعْلَنْتُ وَمَا اَنْتَ اَعْلَمُ بِهِ مِنِّيْ، اَنْتَ الْمُقَدِّمُ وَاَنْتَ الْمُؤَخِّرُ لاَاِلَهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ، وَلاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ اِلاَّ بِاللهِ

Dua After Tahajjud prayer transliteration

“Allaahumma lakal hamdu anta qayyumus samaa waati wal ardhi wa man fiihinna. wa lakal hamdu anta malikus samaa waati wal ardhi wa man fiihinna, wa lakal hamdu anta nuurus samaawaati wal ardhi wa man fiihinna, wa lakal antal haqqu, wa wa’dukal haqqu, wa liqaa’uka haqqu, wa qaulukal haqqun, wal jannatu haqquw wannaaru haqquw wan-nabiyyuuna haqquw wa Muhammadun shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallama haqquw wassaa’atu haqq.”

“Allaahumma laka aslamtu wa bika aamantu wa ‘alaika tawakkaltu wa ilaika anabtu, wa bika khaashamtu wa ilaika haakamtu faghfirlii maa qoddamtu wa maa akhkhartu wa maa asrartu wa maa a’lantu wa maa anta a’lamu bihiminnii. antal muqoddimu wa antal mu’akhkhiru laa ilaaha anta. wa laa haula wa laa quwwata illaa billaah.”

O Allah, to You, is all praise. You are the enforcer of the heavens and the earth and all that is in them. Praise be to You. You are the King of the heavens and the earth.  Glory be to You, the radiant light of Heaven and earth.

Praise be to You, You are true, Your promise is true, Your meeting is true, Your word is real, Heaven is real, Hell is real, the prophets are true, Prophet Muhammad SAW is real, and the Day of Judgment is real.

O Allah, to You I surrender, to You I return, to You I miss, and to You I judge. Forgive me for my mistakes and the previous ones, both what I have hidden and what I have stated.

You are the first God and the last God. There is no God but You. There is no power and strength except with (the power of) Allah.

That is dua that you should read after performing the tahajjud prayer. Be excited to carry out the tahajjud prayer, even though I know it is very hard to do it, we just pray that God will give guidance so that we are able to carry it out.
